 Nick Prettejohn

Nick Prettejohn was appointed in January 2006 as Chief Executive, Prudential UK & Europe.

Nick was previously Chief Executive of Lloyd's of London.  He joined the Corporation of Lloyd's in 1995 as Head of Strategy. He played a key role in the Reconstruction and Renewal (R&R) process, which reorganised Lloyd's after the losses of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Following the successful completion of R&R in 1996, Nick became Managing Director of Lloyd's Business Development Unit and in 1998 he also assumed responsibility for Lloyd's North America business unit. He was appointed Chief Executive of Lloyd's in July 1999.

Prior to joining Lloyd's, he was responsible for Corporate Strategy at National Freight Corporation plc, a major international logistics company.

Nick began his business career in 1982 as a research associate with management consultants Bain and Company, becoming a manager in 1986 and partner in 1988. Between 1991 and 1994, he was a director of Apax Partners, a private equity fund.

In 2004 Nick became an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and was appointed a member of the Financial Services Practitioner Panel of which he is now Chairman. He is a Board member of the Association of British Insurers. In 2005 he was appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Opera House. He is also Chairman of Music Platform a leading music education charity.

 Gary Shaughnessy

Gary Shaughnessy was appointed Managing Director, Retail Life & Pensions, Prudential UK in October 2006.

Gary joined M&G in July 1999, when he was appointed to head up its direct business. In 2001 Gary became Chief Executive of M&G's UK Retail business with responsibility for M&G and Prudential's retail unit trust, OEIC and investment trust business in the UK. He joined the Prudential Executive team in March 2006.

Gary is now responsible for Prudential's pensions, investment, insurance, retirement income and intermediated distribution business.

Prior to joining the Group, Gary was Marketing and Brand Director for AXA Insurance and General Manager responsible for Financial Services Marketing at the Automobile Association. He began his financial service career at the Bank of Scotland where he was a Marketing Development Manager at the subsidiary, Capital Bank.

 Jennifer Board

Jennifer Board was appointed HR Director - UK & Europe on 24 July 2006.

Jennifer was HR Director for Corporate Banking & Financial Markets at the Royal Bank of Scotland from April 2002 - January 2006.

Jennifer's previous roles included CIBC World Markets where she was Global Head of HR based in New York from 1999 - 2002, and Head of UK, Europe & Asia from 1996 - 1999.

She has also held other senior HR roles at Morgan Stanley and Chase Manhattan Bank in both London and New York and has been a Non Executive Director on the School Teachers Review Body since February 2006.

 Andrew Crossley

Andy was appointed Managing Director, Finance UK & Europe Insurance Operations in April 2007.

Andy is a chartered accountant with over 20 years in Financial Services.

He was previously Group Chief Risk Officer from September 2005 to March 2007 at Prudential plc and Director, Group Finance and Risk at Prudential plc from 2000.

Prior to joining Prudential, Andy was Group Financial Controller at Legal and General Group plc, Deputy Group Financial Controller of Lloyds Bank plc and was originally with Metal Box plc. He trained as an accountant with Deloitte Haskins and Sells.

 Simon Allen

Simon joined Prudential UK when he was appointed Chief Operations Officer in November 2007.

Before then, he was Chief Executive Officer at Hometrack Data Services - the housing intelligence group.

Simon has a strong history in consulting, sales, venture capital, IT and operations. Before Hometrack, he spent six years at Capital One Bank as Vice President of International Operations and CIO. He previously held senior roles with First Data Resource (the UK subsidiary of First Data Corporation, Europe's largest processor of credit, debit and charge cards); GMM Investors (a private equity fund in Boston USA); Trans National Group (specialising in affinity marketing of financial services) & Bain & Company.

Simon plays a pivotal role in helping further develop and deliver our strategy to become the Leaders in Retirement in the UK life and pensions market.

Married with two sons, Simon is a keen squash player, fly fisherman and skier. He also keeps bees.

 Iain Wright

Iain was appointed as Chief Risk Officer in August 2006.

He is responsible for all aspects of Risk Management (compliance, operational risk, financial risk and financial crime) across the UK and European business.

Prior to joining Prudential Iain was Head of Insurance in the Financial Services Authority's Major Retail Group Division. In that role he was responsible for the supervision of the UK's largest retail insurance groups, including the implementation of the FSA's capital regime and its supervision model.

Before this Iain was Head of Listing at the FSA and the London Stock Exchange, responsible for listing companies on the Stock Exchange.

Iain is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Securities Institute.

 David Belsham

David Belsham has been the Actuarial Function Holder/Appointed Actuary of Prudential plc's UK life assurance companies since 1998.

In this role, David's responsibility is to ensure that Prudential UK's long term insurance business is operated on sound financial lines and with regard to policyholders' reasonable expectations.

David joined Prudential as an Actuarial trainee in 1983, and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1988.  He has worked in a wide range of Actuarial functions covering valuation, systems development, product development, general insurance, management reporting, and mergers and acquisitions.  David was Chief Actuary of the company's direct sales force division from 1992 - 1995, and has been Chief Actuary of the UK division since 1995.

 Steven Haasz

Steven joined Prudential in July 2007 and leads the Corporate Solutions team. Corporate Solutions objective is to provide a range of innovative and profitable solutions to insurance companies and corporates.

Before joining Prudential, Steven was a Director at Lloyd's of London where he spent five years with responsibility for a variety of functions including strategy, business planning, change management, business process transformation and human resources. Steven began his financial services career with actuaries and consultants firm, Bacon & Woodrow, and also spent a number of years as an independent consultant working with clients such as J P Morgan, Royal and Sun Alliance, Equitas and Lloyd's of London.

Steven lives in Surrey and is married to Aduke. They have three children.
